Spices and wood are what you smell first of all in Kismet for Men by Maison Alhambra. Spices and wood are what you smell last of all as well. Spices with vanilla most prominent and maybe some cinnamon. Maybe. The wood is heavy like furniture wood or how whiskey tastes to people who don’t like it. Like the inside of an old wardrobe. It does not sound appealing in concept and yet it is in reality. It may well be my favorite cologne of all.
If your idea of what smells good is also what smells floral or like citrus, this probably won’t work for you. Lots of reviews say that this smells like something you should wear with a suit or a tuxedo. The profile is supposedly based on Yves St Laurent’s Tuxedo, so that’s probably why the reviewers think that. The marketing is seen as a recommendation. I think this works well in any environment. Wear it for yard work.
It’s sweet and woody but the opposite of cloying. Kismet lacks the rose note that Fragrantica says is present in Tuxedo. It also sits close to you so that you probably won’t be overwhelming anyone with it. While come across review saying that this cologne lasts for many hours, that was not the case in my experience, though I admit that I may not have moisturized my skin beforehand. I got maybe 2 hours out of a healthy set of sprays.
