First impressions of this fragrance weren’t great. Second impressions weren’t much better. It smells nice enough but with an element that I couldn’t place and that made me a little uncomfortable. After wearing it a couple times, I think I’ve changed my opinion. I would almost say that it has grown on me. Sprayed on fabric, it still doesn’t impress but on skin, it’s actually quite pleasant. Claiborne Sport is perfect for wear in high heat and humidity. It does indeed last and hold up. It’s the perfect inoffensive fresh fragrance for the workplace, especially if you work in a very hot environment and sweat a lot. Online reviews have compared it to Aspen and also to Gain/generic fabric softeners. I’ve seen “clean laundry” used as a descriptor. These comparisons are in the right ballpark. It’s close to generic with just enough distinctive floral and citrus elements to stand apart. I think the note that I struggle with might be the coriander, which is listed as a middle note on Fragrantica. It stands out and I don’t like it but I like everything else. If you just want to smell clean for a long time and for relatively little money, this is as good as it gets. It’s good even compared to the other freshies in my collection even though it’s really nothing special.
